Yūmi Beachside Onsen Resort

I was absolutely blown away by the professionalism, service, and amenities offered by this place. American here first time visiting Japan to meet the father of my Japanese wife. Even with overcast weather, the hotel personnel were outside waiting for receive our arrival and continued to take care of us during the entirety of our stay. Our dinner had me speechless. It was so good I can’t even describe. Furthermore, being that I am not always into eating sushi, accommodations were made so that I could have a hot pot to cook my meat. Ms. Kakehasi was our server and she was outstanding. Very attentive, polite, and professional. Please give her a tip if you are lucky enough to see her! Onsens were clean, morning offers open hours to go as you like and the scenery can be stunning. Will return

It was unfortunate that the day we stayed the weather was so bad… It was raining non-stop so we could not enjoy the sunset nor the veranda. Good points: - Rooms are clean and spacious - Free private hot spring. Rooftop Jacuzzi is with fee, but you can use Chiba-ken coupon while the region is in travel campaign. - Friendly staff. Adequate facilities. - Plenty of seafood, fresh and high quality. Need to improve: - Be noted that the menu is fixed. They do NOT alter the menu even if you cannot eat seafood. Breakfast is also Japanese style with lots of seafood. My husband basically had some pickles and tofu with rice only for both breakfast and dinner. - They do not provide cow milk (or actual milk) Only ミルク the very common cheap plastic cubes that we’re refrain to take. And later on we learned that they actually sell milk in their souvenir shop… - Food presentation maybe a bit disturbing if you don’t like seeing things moving on table… The abalone in particular. I lost my appetite completely after seeing it still pretty much alive, trying to get out of its shell because it was heating up underneath… Same to the lobster and fish head starring at me the whole meal…

Literally it's at beachfront and everyroom has its own balcony towards the sea. When weather is good, you can see sunset from your room while lying on the bed. What a luxury experience to have! At dinner, everyone is allocated to their own private room. Some dishes were good, some of them were a bit too bland. .own thing to mention, It was a shame that sashimi platter was served almost frozen. It was too cold to taste its umami! I expected at these kind of hotels, they know when to serve them...

Approx one hour drive from HND Airport. ||||We have a spacious room with private onsen. Room layout was nice. Onsen can be accessed by the bathroom.||||We were offered complimentary drinks at the Lounge. The patio was beautiful.||||We had dinner and breakfast at a private room. They were both delicious. ||||Highly recommended.

Oceanfront Japanese style resort hotel, with onsen bath. Some of the private baths (small for couples and families) are open air with great to some ocean views. Food is Yumi's speciality, fresh catch from local fish market, including huge sized Sashimi. The beach in front of the resort is not particularly clean, but it's calm and good for kids. The resort is west facing so you can watch great sunset from the terrace or any of the rooms.
